University of Montevallo, also referred to as UM, is located in Montevallo, Alabama, United States. It was founded in the year 1896 as the Alabama Girls' Industrial School. It is a member unit of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. It gained university status in 1969. Degrees are offered to students through the university's four colleges, which are:
  • College of Arts and Sciences
  • College of Education
  • College of Fine Arts
  • Michael E. Stephens College of Business
The university's athletic teams are known as the Falcons. UM Students compete in a range of college sports including basketball, golf, cross country, soccer, tennis, baseball, and volleyball.
