Scottsdale Community College, or SCC, is a two-year college located in Scottsdale, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix. It was established in 1970. The campus is situated on 160 acres. SCC is part of the Maricopa County Community College District and offers a wide variety of degrees, certificates and courses in diverse fields of study. Scottsdale Community College provides facilities for a number of clubs and events which support overall development of the students. The athletics department has many sports teams which participate in various sports such as tennis, volleyball, softball, soccer, baseball, and football. The sports teams are nicknamed the Fighting Artichokes, and their official mascot is Artie.
