Study at Hendrix College

Hendrix College is located in Conway, Arkansas. It is a private liberal arts college that was founded in 1876. Rev. Isham L. Burrow established the college as a primary school called Central Institute. Hendrix College is based on a 160-acre campus. Students are offered graduate and undergraduate degrees in several Course Topics. Some of the fields of study include humanities, natural sciences, social sciences, theater, environment and pre-professional studies. Hendrix College is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. The athletic teams of the college are nicknamed the Warriors. The school sponsors teams in baseball, basketball, golf, swimming, tennis, softball and soccer, among others.

Course Topics

One of the good things about Hendrix is its wide range of programs leading to degrees. Students at the school often study mathematics, music, science, art studies, drama and performing arts, therapy and Counselling, and liberal arts.

Hendrix Selectivity

The admissions department at Hendrix does not accept all those who apply. Most students' verbal SAT scores were in the range of 570 to 690 in 2007. A quarter of students admitted in 2007 scored 660 or higher on the math SAT.

Students at Hendrix benefit from the low student/teacher ratio. The school's tenure system is geared toward rewarding and keeping the most valuable professors.
