University of Central Arkansas
The University of Central Arkansas was established in
1907 and has along tradition of academic excellence. The University is
more than just buildings and location; it is excellent faculty and
outstanding staff all working together, creating an educational
environment that produces excellent students. Our students leave UCA
with the knowledge and skills necessary for life-long success in the
twenty-first century. To complement the academic experience, students have
the opportunity to become involved in a wide variety of campus
activities such as one of the 95 student organizations, departmental and
professional clubs, honor societies, international student groups, intramural sports and student government association. With the Ozark foothills to the north and the state
capital of Little Rock a short drive to the south, UCA is centrally
located in Conway, Arkansas, a town of about 45, 000 and one of the
fastest growing cities in the state. The campus is situated in a
residential neighborhood, which is safe and pleasant. Arkansas is known
as the Natural State because of the beautiful parks, lakes, rivers
and forests throughout the state.
Campus and Local EnvironmentUCA offers a variety of student services including
centres for academic advising, health, career Counselling and others.
On-campus facilities include state-of-the-art computer labs, a new
performing arts center, and a new recreation and fitness center
featuring basketball, volleyball, exercise classes and workout
equipment. UCA offers year-round housing options allowing
students to remain in campus housing between semesters and during breaks
and vacations. These options include Minton Hall, the international
residence hall, and a variety of fully-furnished university-owned
apartments conveniently located to campus. The professional staff of the Office of
International Programs are available to assist international students
with orientation, immigration-related matters and other concerns so that
international students may achieve the highest level of success. It also
sponsors activities and programs promoting cross-cultural exchange on
campus and in the community, along with programs allowing students to
study overseas. Central Arkansas is in the temperate zone and has
a climate with variable weather conditions. Winter is relatively mild, with day-time temperatures ranging from 7 to 16C. Summer is very warm
with daytime temperatures ranging from 21 to 38C. Spring and fall are
