The University of San Diego, also known as USD, is a Roman Catholic university located in San Diego, California. It was established in the year 1949. USD offers more than 60 bachelor, master, and doctoral programs. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:

USD's athletes compete in the West Coast Conference at the Division I level of the NCAA. The sports teams are nicknamed the Toreros. Some of the notable alumni of the university are Lowell McAdam, President and CEO of Verizon Wireless; Theo Epstein, General Manager of the Boston Red Sox; and Steve Poltz, musician.
