It is one of the largest four-year colleges in the country and has the second largest Enrolment of undergraduates in Colorado. The college offers over 50 majors and more than 7 minors. MSCD is recognized for a wide array of liberal arts and sciences programs, as well as its business, teacher education, aviation, and criminal justice programs. MSCD is noted for its athletics programs. Their sports teams are nicknamed the Roadrunners. The Metro State's women's soccer team won the Division II National Championship in 2004 and 2006, while the men's basketball team won the Division II National Championship in 2000 and 2002.
