The United States Air Force Academy, also known as USAFA or Air Force, is an accredited college for the United States Air Force. Located in El Paso County, Colorado, it was established in 1954 and is the youngest of the United States service academies. The main campus covers 18, 000 acres and the Academy offers bachelor's degrees in a wide variety of subjects. USAFA's athletic department fields a number of men's and women's sports teams which participate in several intercollegiate programs. They are nicknamed the Falcons and their official mascot is this bird. The sports teams compete in several sports including football, baseball, basketball, and tennis.
