Widener University Delaware Campus


Widener University was initially established as The Bullock School for Boys in 1821. Over the years, the institute went through quite a few changes in name and status. It became the Widener College in 1972, and was finally named the Widener University in 1979. It has 3 campuses in Pennsylvania and one in Delaware. The 40-acre Delaware campus is located in North Wilmington, and was set up in 1975. Widener University - Delaware campus offers a wide variety of degree programs in the field of legal studies. The university offers study through the following academic divisions:

  • School of Law
Widener University supports over 20 varsity teams in basketball, baseball, football, golf, lacrosse, cross country, soccer, track and field, swimming, softball, field hockey, and volleyball. Nicknamed the Prides, the teams compete in the Middle Atlantic Corporation. In addition, students of the Delaware campus are involved in various clubs and organizations such as the Student Bar Association, Moe Levine Trial Advocacy Honor Society, Moot Court Honor Society, Phi Alpha Delta, Phi Delta Phi, and OUTLaw.
