Study at Florida Atlantic University


Florida Atlantic University, a public research university, was established in 1964. The main campus occupies about 850 acres of land and serves more than 25, 000 students. FAU has 10 colleges that offer over 145 doctoral, masters and bachelors degree programs. These colleges are:

Florida Atlantic Universitys sports teams are known as the Owls. The athletics program of the university started in 1979, and the teams participate in volleyball, soccer, golf, cross country and football. Some notable alumni are the head of Federal Emergency Management Agency, R. David Paulison; famous poet, Charles Ghigna; renowned Puerto Rican author, Judith Ortiz Cofer; and singer, Chris Carrabba.
