History
Founded
in 1914 as a business school, Johnson and Wales University has
developed an international reputation for excellence in instruction, faculty and facilities on campuses throughout the United States. Known
as one of America's finest career preparatory institutes of higher
education, the University continues to grow in program offerings, physical facilities and student Enrolment.
Scholarship
Programs
Academic
scholarships are available up to $5, 000 to full-time,
undergraduate, day school, international students and are renewable for up to four
years based on academic performance.
Transfer
Students
Johnson
and Wales University has 1, 100 international students from more than
90 foreign countries enrolled at its campuses nationwide. Approximately
25 percent of J&W's new international students transfer from
postsecondary schools around the world, many of which have formal
transfer credit agreements with Johnson and Wales. To find out how
many of your credits will transfer, you will need to provide us with
your mark sheets, grades and transcripts. Credit will be awarded for
courses you have completed with a grade of "C" or better that
are similar in level and content to courses at Johnson and Wales that
apply to your program. Scholarships are available for transfer students.
English
Language Programs
J&W's
English Language Institute at our Providence Campus provides year-round
instruction in the English language and offers credit towards a degree.
English language programs are also offered at
Denver and N. Miami through ELS Language centres, the oldest and
largest U. S. -based intensive English as a Second Language program. Our
English language program lets you focus on the areas where you need the
most improvement. As you become more skilled in English, you will be
eligible to attend regular classes toward your degree.
