Fort Valley State University or FVSU, was established in 1895, and is a public university located in Fort Valley, Georgia. The campus is spread across an area of more than 1360 acres. FVSU awards bachelor's degrees in over 50 majors including business administration, agriculture, and education. Master's degrees are also offered in subjects like education and Counselling. FVSU's athletics department fields a number of men's and women's sports teams.
