Study at Avila University
Why Avila?
HOME AWAY FROM HOME. Going away to college is exciting. But, it can
also be a little scary. No worries. At Avila, it'll take you 10 seconds
to make friends. Your professors, other students, coaches, RA, advisor, and even Ron, our President, will make you feel welcome and answer your
questions. You'll find it doesn't take long to make Avila your home. The
friends you make at Avila will be your friends for life!
STRONG ACADEMICS. At Avila, we receive a broad education that sets a strong life
foundation. We are taught advanced critical thinking and communication
skills, enabling us to compete in an ever-shrinking world. Avila degrees
are highly respected in the community, and when we graduate, we'll know
that we are prepared to take on any challenge. DIVERSITY. College is meant to be fun and at Avila, it's the people who make the
difference. Not only will you find other students who share your same
interests, but also students who will introduce you to new experiences.
We have students from Japan, Africa, China, South America, the Middle
East and a dozen other countries. We also have students from almost
every state, bringing their regional differences with them. The
diversity rate at Avila is among the highest for universities in the
Kansas City area and we're proud of that mix. At Avila, your world will
expand.
INDIVIDUAL ADVISOR.
Advisors are professors in your academic area and they meet with you
every semester to plan your classes and make sure you are meeting the
requirements of graduation. You get your own time to discuss options and
ask questions. Your personal advisor is the best resource for
networking, internships, and job searches. They can also write
recommendation letters for you (because they actually know you, not just
your social security number on a class roster).
