Study at University of Southern Maine


Founded in 1878, the University of Southern Maine, commonly called USM, is a multi-campus public university. It is part of the University of Maine System. The three primary campuses of the university are located in Portland, Gorham, and Lewiston. According to the Princeton Review's 2006 listings, USM is among the “best Northeastern colleges”. The university offers a wide variety of degrees and programs through the following academic divisions:

USM's athletic teams are nicknamed the Huskies. The university participates in the NCAA Division III in the Little East Conference.
