Study at Goucher College


Established in 1885, Goucher College is a coeducational liberal arts institute. It was initially founded as a women's college, and was known as The Woman's College of Baltimore. Methodist ministers John B. Van Meter and Dr. John Goucher had set up the institute, and in 1910, it was renamed in their honor. The college sits on a sprawling 287 acre campus in Towson, Maryland, USA. Goucher College's recent Enrolments have been more than 2, 000 undergraduate and postgraduate students on an annual basis.

Goucher College offers more than 30 majors and several interdisciplinary programs. Students can choose from courses in the fields of art and art history, biology, chemistry, cognitive studies, communication and media studies, computer science and mathematics, music, peace studies, theatre, women's studies, and world literatures in translation, among others.

The sports teams of Goucher College are known as the Gophers. The athletics department fields men's and women's teams in basketball, cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, tennis, equestrian, and volleyball.
