Study at Howard Community College
Howard Community College was founded in 1966 by the Board of Education in Howard County. The first classes were held in October of 1970, with 600 students. The college covers around 120 acres in Columbia, Maryland. Presently, the college offers more than 100 academic programs and is organized into the following divisions: -

HCC is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The athletic teams sponsored by HCC include men's and women's track and cross country, women's soccer, volleyball and basketball, and men's lacrosse and basketball. HCC has more than 6, 000 living alumni. Some of the notable alumni of the college are Tracy Goldstein, the Resource Manager of the Department of the Army; Larry Madaras, Jr. , the Editor of Genesis Films; and M. Courtney Watson, the Chairperson of Howard County Council.
