Study at Salem State CollegeSalem State College, or SSC, is a four-year public institution of higher learning located in the city of Salem, Massachusetts. Established in 1854, the college now enrolls more than 9, 000 students each term. SSC campus is comprised of more than 30 buildings which sit on 108 acres. SSC offers bachelors, masters and post masters certificates in more than 40 academic disciplines. Salem State College is the largest state college and the fourth-largest public institution of higher education in Massachusetts. It offers facilities including multiple theater venues, tennis courts, a hockey rink, two gymnasiums, a pool and an athletic field. SSC's sports teams are nicknamed the Vikings and they compete in the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III.
