Study at Simmons College


Simmons College, established in 1899, is a private women's undergraduate college that also offers graduate programs to both men and women. There are more than 2, 000 undergraduate women, and over 2, 000 postgraduate students who enroll in this college every year. Simmons College offers a pioneering liberal arts program for its undergraduate students along with coeducational graduate programs in education, liberal arts, health sciences, social work, communications management and library and information science. In addition, the college's MBA program is the first in the United States to be designed specifically for women.

Simmons College offers its graduate programs through the following schools:

  • The School of Social Work
The college sponsors athletics teams in a variety of sports including basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball. The sports teams are called the Sharks and they compete in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, the North Atlantic Conference and the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
