Study at Macomb Community College


Founded in 1954, Macomb Community College is one of the nation's leading community colleges. It enrolls more than 50, 000 students annually. The Michigan Superintendent of Public Instruction approved the establishment of South Macomb Community College as an expansion of the traditional K-12 system in the Van Dyke Public School District, on May 22, 1953.

The college ranks nationally in the top two percent in the number of associate's degrees awarded. It is also the largest grantor of associate's degrees in Michigan. The college's extensive educational programming includes pre-college experiences, bachelor's degree completion, graduate degree programs, university transfer and career preparation programs, workforce training, professional and continuing education, and enrichment opportunities.

The sports teams of Macomb Community College are nicknamed the Monarchs. The college has produced athletes who have been the winners of more than 5 National Championships, over 50 regional titles, and over 60 MCCAA and Conference titles.
