Wayne State University, also known as Wayne state or WSU, is a research
intensive university located in Detroit, Michigan, United States. It was
established in the year 1868. The main campus is spread across an area of 203

WSU's sports teams are nicknamed the Warriors. They compete in the NCAA Division
II in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) for all sports
except ice hockey. Their women's ice hockey program participates at the NCAA
Division I level in the College Hockey America (CHA) conference.
