Study at University of Central Missouri


The University of Central Missouri (UCM), formerly Central Missouri State University, is a four year public institution, located in Warrensburg, Missouri. The University was founded in 1871. UCM offers over 150 programs of study, a scenic residential campus and a hospitable hometown.

Central Missouri's athletic teams participate in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). UCM's athletic teams are known as the Mules (men) and Jennies (women). They have a living mascot named Mancow, and another named Mo the Mule. Athletic divisions include basketball, baseball, American football, golf, women's soccer, women's bowling, softball, cross-country, track, volleyball and wrestling.

Some of the notable alumni of UCM are Dale Carnegie, author of ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People'; Mark Curp, former world and American record holder in the Half-Marathon; and David Cook, winner of the seventh season of American Idol.
