Founded in 1963, CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College, BMCC, is one of the two-year colleges within the City University of New York (CUNY) system. BMCC confers a variety of associate s degrees in different fields of study. The College also offers many distance learning programs.

The sports teams of BMCC are known as the Panthers. They participate in various sports like handball, bowling, baseball, soccer and basketball. The teams compete in both the CUNY athletic system and the local NCAA collegiate sports system.
