Study at Iona College

Iona College was founded by the Congregation of Christian Brothers in 1940. It is a private coeducational college following the tradition of American Catholic higher education. The campus in New Rochelle, New York, sits upon 35 acres of land. More than 3,000 undergraduates and over 1,000 postgraduate students enroll in Iona College every year. This institute was listed in the "America s Best Colleges 2009" by US News and World Report.

Iona College’s athletics department fields sports teams in baseball, basketball, cross country, track & field, rowing, lacrosse, golf, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, water polo, and volleyball. The teams are known as the Gaels and wear the school colors of maroon and gold. The mascot is called Killian. In addition, there are several student clubs and organizations on the campus. Among the fraternities are Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, Delta Upsilon Fraternity, and Zeta Kappa Chi Fraternity, while the sororities include Beta Chi Sorority, Delta Theta Beta Sorority, Gamma Lambda Rho Sorority, Phi Gamma Chi Sorority, Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority, and Psi Kappa Theta Sorority.

The notable alumni of this college includes names like John Bonacic, New York State Senator; Warren Isaac, basketball star; and Don McLean, singer-songwriter.
