Jefferson Community College was originally founded as the Jefferson County Technical Institute in 1966. Classes began in the September of 1968. The institute was renamed the Jefferson Technical College in 1977, and it finally became the Jefferson Community College in 1995. The campus of this college is located in Steubenville, Ohio.
