Langston University, also known as LU, is located in Langston, Oklahoma, United States. It was established in 1897 and is the state's only historically black university. It was originally known as the Oklahoma Colored Agricultural and Normal University. Later, it was named Langston University after John Mercer Langston, a civil rights pioneer.
