The University of Scranton is a private, co-educational Jesuit university located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It was established in 1888 by Rev. William O'Hara, the first Bishop of Scranton. The university is one of the member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. The campus is spread across an area of 58 acres. It offers a wide variety of degrees and certificates through the following academic units:

The University of Scranton's sports teams participate in the NCAA Division III. Its official mascot is the Royals, as the University of Scranton sponsors more than 15 athletic teams.
