Waynesburg College was established by the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in
1849. It is a private institution of liberal arts, and is located in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. The campus of the institution consists of more than 23 buildings
which are spread across an area of 70 acres. The college offers over 70
doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate programs of study. Various programs for
studying abroad are also organized by the Waynesburg College.
Waynesburg College's athletics department fields a large number of men's and
women's sports teams. They compete in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The college's athletic
teams are nicknamed the Yellow Jackets. They participate in various sports
including golf, cross country, basketball, tennis, and volleyball.
Waynesburg University is located in a town not particularly near any major
cities, in Waynesburg, PA. The school is officially a Presbyterian Church (USA)
school. Waynesburg University is a private, not-for-profit institution. Degree
levels at the school top out at the Doctoral degree.

The admissions department at the school does not accept all those who apply.
Most students' verbal SAT scores were in the range of 450 to 540 in 2007. A
quarter of students admitted in 2007 scored 550 or higher on the math SAT.
