Citadel Military College of South Carolina, commonly referred to as Citadel College or SCCC, is a public college locate in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. It was established on December 20, 1842, as South Carolina Military Academy by the South Carolina Legislature. After a few name and status changes, it was officially renamed Citadel Military College of South Carolina in 1910. The Citadel, one of the senior military colleges of the state, offers more than 12 academic departments, more than 18 majors, and 20 minors in diverse Course Topics. Citadel College is home to a variety of sports programs. It is a member of the NCAA Division I and competes in the Southern Conference. Their sports teams are nicknamed the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs participate in football, cross country, soccer, and volleyball.
