Study at Clemson University


Clemson University, founded in 1889, is a public, coeducational, research university. Thomas Green Clemson, the University's founder, willed most of his estate for the establishment of a college that would promote scientific agriculture and mechanical arts. The university enrolls more than 10, 000 undergraduates and over 3, 000 postgraduates.

The Clemson Tigers, as the University's sports teams are called, wear the team colors purple and orange. There are separate men's teams for baseball, basketball, football, cross-country, golf, soccer, track and field, swimming and diving, and tennis. The women's sports include basketball, cross-country, rowing, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. The Clemson Tigers have won 4 national championships in football, soccer and golf.
