Houston Baptist University, also known as HBU, was founded in 1960, and is a private institution located in Houston, Texas. The campus of the university is spread across an area of 100 acres. Houston Baptist University's athletics department fields an impressive number of men's and women's sports teams. They compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Nicknamed the Huskies, the teams participate in golf, cross country, basketball, softball, and volleyball, among others.
