James Madison University is a public coeducational research university located in Harrisonburg, Virginia It was founded in the year 1908. JMU was named one of "America's Best Value Colleges" in the Princeton Review's 2007 rankings. JMU's athletic teams are nicknamed "Dukes". It competes in the NCAA's Division I (Football Championship Subdivision for football), the Colonial Athletic Association, and the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
