Study at James Madison University


James Madison University is a public coeducational research university located in Harrisonburg, Virginia It was founded in the year 1908. JMU was named one of "America's Best Value Colleges" in the Princeton Review's 2007 rankings. The university offers more than 100 degree programs on the bachelors, masters, educational specialist and doctoral levels. The university is comprised of seven colleges:

JMU's athletic teams are nicknamed "Dukes". It competes in the NCAA's Division I (Football Championship Subdivision for football), the Colonial Athletic Association, and the Eastern College Athletic Conference. JMU's football team won the NCAA Division I-AA National Championship in 2004. Country singer Phil Vasser is a notable alum of the university.
