One of the defining characteristics of the school is its status as a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) school. Bethany is a private, not-for-profit institution. The Bachelor's degree is the highest degree at the school. Course Topics Bethany offers a wide range of choices in programs of study. The most common majors at the school are in science, media, art studies, and therapy and Counselling. Bethany Selectivity Bethany does not have an open admissions system. Not everyone who applies is accepted. Only 25% of students scored 440 or lower in 2007 on the verbal SAT test. Math SAT scores at the school centered around 440 to 550, but ranged both higher and lower. People attending Bethany come from a variety of states around the country. FacultyClasses at the school are less crowded than at many schools. A tenure system is one way Bethany works to keep a high-quality staff. Bethany offers students meal plans. The school student athletes compete in Presidents' Athletic Conference competitions.
