College of Arts and Sciences University of Wyoming

United States Universities, Colleges and SchoolsOn behalf of the College of Arts and Sciences, I extend a warm welcome to current and future students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends.   As the largest college in the University of Wyoming, we offer diverse and exciting opportunities for all of you within the seven divisions of A&S: humanities, fine arts, social sciences, biological sciences, physical sciences, mathematical sciences, and interdisciplinary studies.

Students benefit from a broad array of courses and programs taught by talented and dedicated faculty. In addition to classes across the curriculum, we provide extraordinary experiences in field work, laboratories and seminars.   Both undergraduate and graduate students have opportunities to conduct one-on-one research with faculty.

Faculty and staff will find a collegial atmosphere for individual goals or interdisciplinary work. We take pride in fostering a strong mentoring philosophy and strive to keep good communication through our e-mail network and college newsletter, As You Like It, (A&SYLI).

We invite alumni and friends to share in our activities, from the Keith and Thyra Thomson Honors Convocation each fall to the many lectures, plays, concerts, film series, art exhibitions, and symposia throughout the year.   Many of these events feature students and faculty prominently.   We also invite your support of the college through annual fund giving or by establishing endowments for specific projects.

We hope you enjoy this visit to our Web site and encourage you to contact us directly (asdean@uwyo.edu ) for more information, to make suggestions, or to voice your concerns. While we are large enough to offer a broad program, we are small enough to give everyone individual attention, and we like that. So, please keep in touch!
